For the 3 x Pieces 850mm Backrest Struts:
Measure and mark 76mm and 50mm at the bottom of both ends
Cut out these corner pieces to fit the support struts, with a Jigsaw
On the back of these pieces Measure 200mm and 170mm above this and join the two marks to establish the angle of the backrest.
Place 1 of the 550mm pieces backrest on this diagonal line and attach it with 2 x coach screws (6mm x 60mm). Repeat till you have made 3 x of these base-backrest assemblies in total.
For the 2 x Pieces 1 500mm Support Struts Measure and mark 100mm on each end of the 2 support struts. Attach a base-backrest assembly at each of these marks using 2 x coach screws (6mm x 75mm) per piece. Now screw the 3rd assembly into the centre using 2 x coach screws (6mm x 75mm).
Screw a 670mm plank and a 390mm plank at right angles to each other and attach to the Left side of the frame with the 6mm x 60mm coach screws. Screw a 670mm plank and a 390mm plank at right angles to each other and attach to the Right side of the frame with the 6mm x 60mm coach screws.
For the Seat and Top Backrest Slats - 5 x Pieces 1300mm and 1 x Piece 1220mm
To form the base use 4 of the 1300mm planks.
Use small blocks of wood to evenly space them apart.
Now join these planks with 6mm x 75mm coach screws.
Attach the 5th 1 300mm plank to the backrest at the top with the 1 220mm plank underneath.
Place the remaining 2 x 670mm planks on top of the armrest and attach with 6mm x 75mm coach screws. Sand the bench smooth using the 80-grit sandpaper and apply the varnish.
Now you can attach the 6mm chain to the 4 support struts of the bench and hang at a hight that suits your comfort. Well Done! Go grab a good book and a Cappichino, you deserve it!
